This talented two year old is a daughter of Loveable Nic and out of Whiz Coast Jewel (West Coast Whiz). She has the best temperament and is so willing to learn. All training has been done by Julia to date and they are forming a great working partnership. Julia and Nikki went to their first show and showed in Western Pleasure to take a 3rd place. TR Shahba's Legacy
This extraordinary typey Arabian mare is a granddaughter of the immortal AK Shahm (imported from Egypt in 1969.) Kyria is sired by CR Shahba and out of MCA Karacolla (an own daughter of NV Collector). These are some of the top foundation arabian lines right up close in her pedigree. Kyria is very athletic and her foals have such a wonderful disposition for trainability. We are so excited to breed her to Loveable Nic in 2014. Julia has always wanted a 1/2 arabian reining horse, and we are hoping to get one with this breeding.
We want to close out this page by giving recognition to two great horses that are now retired from performing and are our personal lawn ordiments. When Julia was a little girl she desperately wanted her own horse. The family purchased 5 different ponies/small horses for her all of which were unsuitable due to their temperaments and her inexperience. In 2005 we purchased a 3 year old QH from Cheryl Mitchell who was perfect for Julia. She and Nahvar learned much together and she was able to experience the love of bonding to her own special horse. Together they showed in halter, western pleasure, english pleasure, trail, gymkhana and spent a few years in 4H. Nahvar unfortunately has developed navicular and Julia is unable to ride him any longer, but he remains her wonderful companion.
When Julia took a fascination to the sport of reining, we were able to obtain a retired reining gelding from Cheryl Mitchell. Amigos Dun Spur a son of Dun Kiddin Amigo was a great teacher for Julia. She showed him in 2009 and 2010 on the Reining Alberta circuit and was everyone sure surprised to see the large red dun gelding back in the ring after so many years of retirement. Julia showed Spur the two seasons winning many prizes and even some money and then due to Spur becoming unsound he went back into full retirement.
